1) Order the watercolour: decide on the desired size. The list of sizes can be found in the available sizes section. Other sizes can be made by direct negotiation with Ivel.
2) Capture the spirit of the school: To create a painting that captures the true essence of your school, and that represents all aspects of educational activity including students, teachers and parents; Ivel requires: photographs of all school buildings to be included in the painting, the school sports field, classrooms, all extra-curricular activities, assemblies, trips, all different sports and all activities that are part of the school curriculum.
These photographs must be sent to Ivel by email, accompanied by a simple sketch representing the location of the school buildings for spatial clarification of the place.
There is the option for Ivel to visit the school, in which case she will spend a whole day taking photographs of all the activities, and informative photographic material will also be required directly from the school. This possibility of visiting the school in person can be discussed directly with the school. At that time, a 20% advance payment of the total is required.
3) Generation of Pencil Drawing: A full size pencil drawing of the watercolour will be created by Ivel and sent to the school by post, for close examination and minor amendments. Ivel will retain a duplicate for reference. The drawing once accepted by the school will then need to be sent back by post to Ivel so that she can make any required changes. At this stage, Ivel will need details of the pupils' uniforms as well as those of all sports so that the colours will match perfectly when the painting is produced. A 30% payment is required for the set-up of the drawing.
4) Production of the original watercolor: The school-approved pencil drawing becomes the basis from which Ivel works to create the final watercolor which is then scanned for future reproduction. Limited editions signed by Ivel are available alongside other printed merchandise. These can be produced alongside the painting or once it has been shipped. Please consult with Ivel for the various possibilities for edition and postcard printing. The final balance of 50% is required with the shipment of the watercolor.
Delivery times for a painting vary depending on the size, but can take between 6 to 8 weeks from start to finish.
